The range depends on the environment it’s in.
For example

• In my oven when I went outside I lost connection at 58ft
• In my oven and it a covered roaster when I went outside I lost connection at 25ft
• In my smoker when I stayed outside I lost connection at 125ft
• In my smoker when I went inside I lost connection at 38ft

It automatically reconnects when you step back in range.
